Houma celebrates Independence Day this Saturday!

Independence Day Celebration
8:00 - The Cajun Crit "Red, White & Bike" Race

12:30 - 1:00: Patriot's Parade, from Concord Plaza on St Charles (Route)
1:00 - 9:00: Entertainment and food, Houma Civic Center (coming soon!)
5:00: Fun Run Registration in front of Civic Center (Race Maps)
9:00: Fireworks 

The theme of this year's celebration is American Pride, and the celebration will focus on the safe return of our deployed veterans, as well as honoring our Vietnam veterans on the 50th anniversary of that conflict.

Houma Celebrates Juneteenth

A day long celebration of Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States, will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, June 18, at Dumas Park on West Tunnel Boulevard in Houma.

The event is designed to bring people of all races, nationalities and religions together while celebrating in music, dance, skits, speech, arts and crafts, as well as a youth essay contest. For more information, contact Arlanda Williams at 986-870-0847.

The event is sponsored by the Houma Terrebonne Economic and Community Development Corporation; Houma Area Convention and Visitors Bureau; Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government; Terrebonne Parish Recreation District #11; Mechanicsville Weed & Seed; and a coalition of elected and civic leaders and community volunteers.
